Easter egg nests

Easter egg nests

These Easter egg nests make for wonderful little holiday treats. They’re quick and easy to make and they’re also a great way of getting the kids active in the kitchen. You may have tried similar recipes in the past using corn flakes or fried noodles, adding golden syrup or peanut butter. However I wanted to make these as simple as possible using just the 4 ingredients. Being on a gluten free diet I used gluten free Special K.

ingredients

  • 70g butter
  • 200g milk chocolate
  • 4 cups gluten free Special K
  • Speckled eggs (Coles own brand is gluten free)

directions

  1. Melt the butter and chocolate together on the stove top or in your microwave.
  2. Place the cereal in a large bowl and stir in chocolate mixture until all combined.
  3. Spoon into a lined muffin tray, press together and then gently push up the sides leaving a dip in the middle for the speckled eggs. In other words… make a nest.
  4. Arrange speckled eggs, 3 or 4.
  5. Allow to set in fridge for 2 hours.
  6. Enjoy your Easter egg nests!
