choc banana bliss balls

choc banana bliss balls

chocolate banana bliss balls packed with protein and natural sweeteners

Bliss balls make for a great healthy snack, dessert or breakfast on the run and not only that the options of flavours and ingredients are many. They are also very simple to make in a Thermomix or food processor. Our other bliss balls include choc coconut bliss balls, caramel bliss balls and our choc mint protein balls.

It’s important to get the ratio between wet and dry ingredients right so the balls don’t become so dry they fall apart or too wet they turn into a pancake. The good thing is there’s no great danger of ruining the recipe by having to add more dry or wet ingredients until you get the right mix.

Bliss balls are a great starting point for experimenting with natural sweeteners, dairy, gluten free and other raw ingredients.

ingredients

  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup dry roasted cashews
  • 1 ripe banana (medium, approx. 100g)
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp cocoa or cocao powder
  • 2 tbsp choc protein powder (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

directions

  1. Add the coconut and cashews into Thermomix bowl or high powered blender and blend into a fine consistency (Thermomix 3 seconds, speed 8).
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until all combined and resembling a doughy texture (5 seconds, speed 7).*
  3. Weigh out the dough in 50g measures, roll into balls with wet hands and place in the fridge to set.

Enjoy your choc banana bliss balls!

*At this point if you find the dough too be dry add a small amount of water and re-mix. Similarly, if you choose to leave out the protein powder you may find the dough to be too wet. No dramas, add a little more of the coconut and/or the cocao powder and re-mix.
