Asian style coleslaw with ginger, sesame and chilli

When we serve pork whether it be barbecued, smoked or oven roasted it is often sided with slaw. This particular Asian style coleslaw was developed to be served alongside our oven roasted pork belly. It is a great side dish for any meat or seafood that has been seasoned with aromatic spices such as cumin, coriander, fennel and five spice powder.

ingredients

  • 1/2 carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 red cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 red chilli, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander and mint
  • 1 tsp finely grated ginger
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
  • 2 tbsp lime juice

directions

  1. Combine the veggies in a bowl.
  2. Mix together the remaining ingredients and pour over the veggies.
